Principal of AP Residential School (BC Boys), Peruru, sentenced to two years RI HYDERABAD: Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested T. Sundupalli Mandal Revenue Inspector B. Sankar Naik in Kadapa district after they ‘caught’ him accepting a bribe of Rs.1,500 from the complainant for doing an official favour. A press release from ACB said here on Saturday that Naik demanded the amount for recommending to the tahsildar -issue of the property valuation certificate - to the complainant. The officials recovered the tainted cash from him. ConvictedThe Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Hyderabad, has convicted N. Showbhagyamma, principal, AP Residential School (BC Boys), Peruru, in Anantapur district, and sentenced her to two years rigorous imprisonment (RI) and fined Rs.2,000 for each offence under Sections 7 and 13(2) read with 13(1) (d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. In default of payment of fine, she has been ordered to suffer three months simple imprisonment respectively under each offence. Showbhagyamma was trapped on January 8, 2004, after accepting a bribe of Rs.1,500 from the complainant.
