BBMP forms market maintenance cell

Bangalore: To maintain cleanliness in markets across the city, the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has formed the “BBMP Markets Development and Maintenance Cell.”
On Friday, BBMP Commissioner Bharat Lal Meena inspected the Johnson Market and K.R. Market and stressed the need to improve and maintain the markets in the city. A chief engineer has been made in-charge of the cell, a release from the BBMP said.
The city has 121 markets and at least 6,000 shops under the BBMP’s jurisdiction. Four assistant engineers will be assisting the chief engineer.
