Drug formulary released

Thiruvananthapuram: The second edition of the Kerala State Drug Formulary was released here on Thursday by Health Minister P. K. Sreemathy.
The book should be an easy reference guide for doctors, especially those working as primary care physicians, Ms. Sreemathy said.
The drug formulary gives information on essential drugs that should be part of primary care, so that a doctor can provide effective treatment. The generic names of drugs, its indications and contra-indications are all listed to help doctors in rational prescriptions, sources said.
The book also contains guidelines on managing important medical emergencies.
