Awareness drive: Students of K.S.G College of Arts and Science taking out an anti-ragging rally in the city on Friday. — COIMBATORE: More than a thousand students of the KSG College of Arts and Science took out a rally against ragging here on Friday. The rally that began at Nirmala College for Women wound its way to reach the Government Arts College. T. Veluchamy, Syndicate Member and Principal, Dr. SNS Rajalakshmi College of Arts and Science, presided over the programme. He impressed upon the students that ragging always hurt fellow human beings. It was a myth that ragging made freshers lose their shyness and made them bold. He also pointed out that ragging had claimed many innocent lives. Students and National Service Scheme volunteers of the college distributed hand-outs to students of other city colleges. The hand-out appealed to students to refrain from indulging in ragging and also listed out the punishments they would have to face if they were to indulge in it.
