Talasani mellows down a bit

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Former Telugu Desam Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav who has been demanding that the party revert to the integrated State stand, appears to have mellowed a bit after meeting party president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday.

Not showing the verve and urgency he displayed during the last two days, Mr. Yadav merely told presspersons that he had impressed upon Mr. Naidu to initiate a debate on changing the party’s stand, considering the fact that the people have rejected the separate Telangana issue.

Poser to Prasanna

He told Mr. Naidu that a decision should be taken before the elections to the GHMC, to save the party from facing another rout. He was hopeful of the party taking a decision favouring an integrated State after discussing it in the ongoing workshop. After listening to his views, Mr. Naidu gave an assurance to him in this regard, he added. Mr. Yadav did not respond to questions on when he was joining the Congress.

Meanwhile, TDP leaders from Nellore mounted a strident attack on party MLA N. Prasanna Kumar Reddy, asking him to clarify what had made him change his stand within a month of the election results and “put himself up for sale.”

Addressing a press conference, S. Chandramohan Reddy, Nellore district party president, and B. Durgaprasad, Gudur MLA, refuted Mr. Prasanna Kumar Reddy’s allegations against Mr. Naidu and wondered why he sought the party ticket so desperately, if the party was no good.
