Pension cut for ‘tainted’ officials

HYDERABAD: The government has issued orders imposing 100 per cent cut in pension, withholding gratuity in full permanently of K. Narayana, former administrative officer, and G. Ramprasad Babu, retired office superintendent, Anantapur District Medical and Health Office, following their conviction by the Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Hyderabad.

An ACB press release issued here on Friday said Narayana, Babu and three others who purchased materials at higher rates than those approved by the Collector secured pecuniary advantage of over Rs. 2 lakh and corresponding loss to the government.

The ACB sent a report to the government and filed a charge-sheet against five persons in the special court where they were convicted.
