Honour: CPMG (TN Circle) S.K. Chakrabarti (right), releases a special postal cover on AIM for Seva’s 75th student home, in Chennai on Thursday. Swami Dayananda Saraswati and AIM for Seva secretary Sheela Balaji receive it. CHENNAI: A special postal cover to commemorate the 75th student home of the All India Movement for Seva was released at a function here on Thursday. The blue-and-white postal cover has the façade of a Student Home and a picture of Swami Dayananda Saraswati on one side and a short note about AIM for Seva on the other. The 75th student home was inaugurated in Palani recently and it is the 16th home, for destitute students, set by AIM for Seva in the State. Releasing the cover, Chief Post Master General (Tamil Nadu Circle) S.K. Chakrabarti said philately is the medium through which the history of a country could be traced. Stamps and postal covers are cultural ambassadors for the world. Commending the works of AIM for Seva, Mr. Chakrabarti said service is the highest form of worship and it would bring in a phenomenal change in society. Swami Dayananda Saraswati termed it as a “great moment” and congratulated the volunteer services of the organisation. The president of the organisation, M.P. Narayanan, and secretary Sheela Balaji spoke.
