Bangalore: The Karnataka State Sangeet Nritya Academy will present its annual awards for the year 2008-09 to singers Rajashekar Mansur, S. Shankar and 16 other artistes at a ceremony to be held in Bangalore on July 15 at Ravindra Kalakshetra. Talking to presspersons here on Thursday, academy chairperson P. Narasimhalu Vadavati said that the presentation ceremony, which was scheduled in March, was postponed as the model code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections was in force. Mr. Vadavati said that the academy had started a special two-month music training programme for nomadic people at Nelahala in Raichur district. A similar training programme will be held at Bellary shortly, he added.
