Youth held on murder charge

VIJAYAWADA: A 20-year-old person was arrested on the charge of killing his sister at Gollapudi on Tuesday.

The incident came to light on Wednesday. The police said that Bapuji, 20, a resident of Gollapudi agency area, picked up a quarrel with his sister Indira, 17, on a trivial issue. In a fit of rage, he hit her to the wall, following which the victim suffered serious injuries. The body was sent to post-mortem. The police registered a case and are investigating.

Found dead

A 36-year-old person was found dead under mysterious circumstances after he was believed to have committed suicide at his residence here on Wednesday.

Police said that the body of Madhusudhana Rao, a resident of Kothapeta, was found hanging from ceiling at his residence by his family members. The police suspected that financial burden could be the reason behind the extreme step.
