Women greet Maor with protest

ELURU: Mayor T. Rama Rao was greeted with protest by women over the problem of drinking water during his padayatra at Bapuji Colony under the Tangellamudi gram panchayat on Monday. They said the taps provided by the Municipal Corporation of Eluru (MCE) under Own Your Tap (OYT) scheme and the public taps were failing to trickle the precious liquid. The MCE authorities were transporting water through tankers once in four days, a woman told the Mayor. He promised to find a permanent solution to the water problem in the locality.-Staff Reporter
