Web counselling for EAMCET, ICET qualified UGC urged to provide Rs 30 crore to JNTU-K Kakinada: JNTU-Kakinada has been granted permission to introduce B.Tech (Petroleum Engineering) course from this academic year and also full-time MBA in its School of Management Studies. The petroleum engineering course was aimed at meeting the manpower requirement of the oil and gas exploration companies which are already into large-scale operations in the Krishna – Godavari basin. Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, Vice-Chancellor Allam Appa Rao said the university’s executive council had taken the decision to offer petroleum engineering course, in November last keeping in view the surging demand for specialists in exploration and production of petroleum and its products. The MBA course was being launched with a similar perspective in mind. Prof. Rao said web counselling would be held for EAMCET and ICET qualified students in the first week of July, for which prior registration was compulsory. Web counselling coordinator S Srinivas Kumar could be contacted through phone number 9440144187 for further details. It was the first time that JNTU Kakinada was hosting web counseling. The Vice-Chancellor stated that the University Grants Commission was asked to provide Rs 30 crore to the university for provision of infrastructure and offering advanced courses.
