Unjust conditions

It is gratifying to note that at least the Centre is pleased to grant classical language status to Telugu. However some of the conditions attached are unjust and have not been made in the case of Tamil. The Official Language Commission and other scholars need to prevail upon the government and see that these conditions are cancelled.

Useful weed

There is recoverable wealth from every weed and ‘mesquite’ is no exception. There is lot of scope to spread this weed in the Rayalaseema districts It is a leguminous tree with nutritious pods and is an excellent cattle feed. Another useful product from the tree is charcoal which can be made by burning the twigs and branches and roots of the tree.

Women in high posts

It is heartening to note that two very important posts are occupied by women which is unprecedented. The Home Minister of Andhra Pradesh and Speaker of Lok Sabha are women. Both portfolios are not hassle free as predecessors have faced a tough time handling these posts. Hope these two women to justice to the task entrusted to them.
