Irked by the absence of headmaster and teachers for a long time SANGAREDDY: Irate over the absence of headmaster and other teachers at Kasaragutti Upper Primary School in Manoor mandal for a long time, the villagers locked the school after sending out a teacher who came to the school. According to the sources, local youths had motivated the residents to admit their wards in the government school stating that the teaching would be better there. Later the strength of the school had also improved. But, the irresponsible behaviour of teachers made the situation worse. Villagers warned that the lock of the school would not be opened only after the District Education Officer comes to address the situation. According to Lingam, a volunteer of Sadhana that is working for the children’s education rights, alleges that similar situation was prevailing in many schools located at tandas under Iragpally and Mainerhally mandals of Narayanakhed constituency limits. “These are inaccessible areas. As a result none of the officials focus on these areas and teachers were misusing it,” he said.
