Announcement on rural business hubs welcomed

CHENNAI: The Southern India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) has welcomed the State government’s decision to set up 10 rural business hubs.
In a statement here on Saturday, chamber president M.Balasubramanian, said that the rural hubs should be developed on a public-private partnership model with the active participation of panchayati-level institutions.
There was a need for formation of professional teams for setting up the hubs while ensuring adequate and timely funding to primary producers/rural entrepreneurs, the statement added.
