Minister distributes subsidy seed

VIZIANAGARAM: Minister for Transport Satrucharla Vijayarama Raju on Saturday inaugurated the seed distribution programme that was organised by Integrated Tribal Development Agency, Parvathipuram at G.L. Puram and Mondemkal in Kurupam mandal offering 50 per cent subsidy to farmers under National Food Security Mission.

He distributed 1,300 quintals of paddy seed on 50 per cent subsidy and dry land crops on 90 per cent subsidy in sub-plan mandals.

Speaking on the occasion he appealed to farmers to utilise the facility.

The Minister asked officials present at the meeting to assist farmers and achieve the targets.

Mr. Vijayarama Raju said micro irrigation facility would be extended to tribal farmers at 100 per cent subsidy for taking up cultivation on lands distributed under Forest Rights Act.

Assuring people of G. L. Puram mandal who stood behind for many years now, the Minister said that he would help them in all respects if informed him about their problems in the form of a letter.

Mr. Vijayarama Raju said tribals should not lag behind in all fronts.

The government’s offer on seed subsidy showed the Chief Minister’s love towards tribal farmers. Project Officer of ITDA M. Rama Rao, in-charge Zilla Parishad Chairperson G. Sudershana Rao, Kurupam MLA V.T. Janardhan Thatraju and others participated.
