Ward member axed to death

HYDERABAD: A ward member of Dammaigudem village in Keesara of Ranga Reddy district, 30 km from here, was axed to death while he was on his way home on Friday night.
Janga Reddy, 42, was going on a motorcycle when unidentified persons waylaid and hurled chilli powder at him, 500 yards from his house at around 10 p.m.
As he fell off the bike, the assailants attacked him with sharp-edged weapons and fled, police told reporters.
Body found
The body of an unidentified man aged about 25 was found murdered on the roadside in Bowenpally late on Friday night.
He was clad in a pair of trousers and shirt, was lying dead on the roadside close to a private lawn tennis court in Sitarampuram. “The killers stabbed him on his chest with a knife or sharp-edged weapon,” the Bowenpally SI, Ravi Kumar, said.
