HYDERABAD: A magistrate under suspension, T. Kiran Kumar, and his parents, T. Narasimha, Second Additional District Sessions Judge of Mahabubnagar, and T. Narayanamma, were arrested by the Hyderabad police in a dowry harassment case on Friday.
The case was registered against Mr. Kumar and his parents following a complaint lodged by his wife, T. Shashikala, accusing them of pestering her for additional dowry, at the Woman Police Station of Hyderabad Detective Department. Mr. Kumar got married to Shashikala in 2005. The complainant charged that after two years, her husband and in-laws began demanding additional dowry and subjected her to cruelty. They were produced before a local court at Nampally and remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.
