Letters to the Editor
Congratulations to the readers of Kolkata who now have a local edition of The Hindu, the most complete and balanced newspaper of India. The range of topics dealt with, and the intense hard work behind them are evident. A Hindi edition of The Hindu would be a welcome next step. Deepak Khaire, Kanyakumari I was delighted to read that The Hindu has launched its edition from Kolkata. I have been reading the newspaper since 1976. I was worried that I would not be able to do so after settling down in Kolkata in a couple of years. I am relieved.T.K. Sarkar, New Delhi I have been a reader of the Delhi edition of The Hindu for 11 years. But I have also missed reading the great newspaper at times due to various reasons. I am delighted at the launch of its Kolkata edition.I recall that about 10 years ago, I wrote to The Hindu asking it to start a Kolkata edition. Today, my desire has been fulfilled. Debasis Mandal, Kolkata I am looking forward to the day when The Hindu will set foot in Mumbai where most readers get the daily either late in the evening or the following day.R. Soundararajan, Nagapattinam
