Denies report

HYDERABAD: Vasavi College of Engineering has denied that the death of its student, Devender Kumar Dande was due to ragging, as reported in the media.

In a statement here, the college principal clarified that an enquiry was conducted involving the faculty apart from classmates and roommates of Devender Kumar and it was found that ragging was not responsible for his death.

He clarified that the decision was arrived at based on the enquiries made by the railway police at Warangal, officials from the Department of Technical Education, Osmania University and the AICTE also.

Moreover, there was no complaint of ragging by the student or his parents at any time, he said.
