Naresh resigns as State BJP vice-president
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: Film actor and BJP leader K. Naresh has resigned as vice-president of the State BJP on Friday owning moral responsibility for the party’s debacle in the recent elections and also in protest against acts of indiscipline by party functionaries in some places.
He said that since nobody took responsibility for the party’s poor showing in the elections, he had decided to do so. Something had gone wrong for the votes share to come down to three per cent from 18 per cent. Mr. Naresh, who was the Hindupur Lok Sabha nominee said that a group of party men in Anantapur district created rift and also tried to insult him. In spite of complaints to the leadership, no action was taken against themHe said that he had sent in his letter to State president Bandaru Dattatreya and BJP national spokesperson and in-charge AP affairs, Prakash Javdekar. He would decide on his future course depending on the response from the leadership.
