HYDERABAD: Leading mobile services provider, Airtel, on Friday announced that it had crossed the one crore subscriber mark in Andhra Pradesh. On the occasion, a young girl, Pushpalatha, who bought a connection, was felicitated for taking Bharti Airtel beyond the one crore mark. At a press conference, Bharti Airtel CEO, Mobile Services, Sharlin Thayil said while it took over nine years to achieve the one crore milestone, they were gearing up to cross the two crore milestone in less number of years. The company’s customer market share had risen to 31 per cent from 29.8 per cent last year, he said, adding that in 2008-09, they had added 30 lakh customers to its network, amounting to about 33 per cent of the total new connections added in the State. Currently covering 91 per cent of the overall population of the State, they planned to cover 95 per cent by March, 2010, Mr. Thayil said. Bharti Airtel’s Chief Operation Officer, AP, Rajnish Kaul, announced three new ‘Thank You’ offers for customers on the occasion. They include free AR Rahman Hello Tune, 25 free SMS.
