Qatar national detained

CHENNAI: A 42-year-old Qatar national was detained at the Chennai airport by the Immigration authorities on Wednesday following a red alert issued by the Interpol against him. Immigration sources identified the person as Salim Abbasi. They said Abbasi was born in Algeria and his father was one of the leaders of the Islamic Salvation Army. The detained person’s father was wanted in connection with a bomb blast case by the Algerian government. However, Mr. Abbasi and his family moved to Qatar and his father joined them later.
