Assistance for 202 priests

CHENNAI: The Village Temple Pujaris Welfare Board, formed by the State government for the welfare of the priests of village temples, will distribute assistance to the tune of Rs.2.93 lakh to 202 priests at a function here on Friday.

HR and CE Minister KR.Periakaruppan in the first phase will hand over spectacles to 126 priests, marriage assistance to 24, education grant to 52, and welfare assistance to the legal heir of a deceased pujari on the occasion, says an official release. — Special Correspondent
