Three taken for questioning

BANGALORE: The city police are questioning three persons allegedly involved in the kidnap of Dhanraj Kumar Sinha, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, on May 10.

The Devanahalli police said Sinha was sending students from Uttar Pradesh to a person in Anandarao Circle here, who in turn was arranging for admission in engineering and medical courses.

During a visit to Bangalore on May 10, Sinha was kidnapped and was taken around in the city.

He was robbed of Rs. 8,000 and four mobile phones. He was released on May 12.

Burglary

Gold ornaments estimated at Rs. 30,000 were taken away from the house of Siddesh Rajeshwar, an advocate, in Ejipura on Tuesday.

The Viveknagar police said Rajeshwar locked the house in the morning and went to his relative’s house in Indiranagar. When he returned, he found thieves had made away with the gold ornaments.

Cash and gold ornaments in all estimated at Rs. 10 lakh were taken away from the flat of Praveen Gupta in HSR 2nd Stage on Tuesday night.

According to HSR Layout police, Praveen Gupta had left to New Delhi along with his wife and children on June 3.

When they returned on Tuesday they found cash and the gold ornaments missing.

Arrested

The Sriramapura police have arrested Mohan Kumar (34), Secretary of Youth Congress in Gandhinagar, for his alleged involvement in the murder of Nanjunda, a Congress party worker, in S.P. Block on June 4. The police have recovered the knife used by Mohan Kumar.

Body found

The body of a 30-year-old man was found near a pond at Channakeshava Nagar in Parappana Agrahara police station limits on Wednesday. The police said that the person had been bludgeoned and abandoned in the pond.

He wore trousers which had been stitched by a tailor in Begur.

The police making efforts to identify the victim.
