Engineering seat selection starts today

BANGALORE: The first seat selection round for admission to private and government engineering colleges in Karnataka will commence here on Thursday.

A total of 30,567 seats in 152 colleges across the State will be on offer.

The seat selection process will be conducted in Bangalore, Hubli and Gulbarga for the first 1,500 rank holders. While Electronics and Communication Engineering tops the list with 6,797 seats on offer, 6,400 seats in Computer Science Engineering will be available under various quotas. There are 24 disciplines in colleges, all affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University, for students to select from. The seat selection is scheduled to start around 9 a.m. Till date seats in medical, dental, homoeopathy and naturopathy have been selected by professional seat aspirants.
