BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday held that the levy of resale tax on payments made by companies (employers) to sub-contractors was illegal.

A Division Bench passed the order on petitions by Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) and others challenging the levy of resale tax for the period from 2003-04 onwards.
