RAMANATHAPURAM: The Directorate of Distance Education of Alagappa University, Karaikudi, has introduced five new courses from this academic year. Its Director V. Balachandran said that five-year integrated M.B.A. programme, M.A. (education), P.G. diploma in electroplating and P.G. diploma in instrumental methods of analysis and P.G. diploma in information technology management were the new courses. The university had been offering 10 specialised programmes in M.B.A. including M.B.A. general, banking and finance, corporate secretaryship, education, management, hospital management, international business, investment management, project management, tourism and human resource management. The university had started evaluation of all 193 study centres including six in foreign countries. The process of issuing re-recognition to them was being taken up. The recognition would be cancelled if they were found violating rules and regulations. It had already de-recognised 14 study centres for various reasons, he added.
