30 removed from NREGS implementation

SANGAREDDY: Services of 30 field assistants, who have been held responsible for corruption in the implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, have withdrawn.
The corruption was estimated at Rs. 51 lakh which was exposed during social audit. Under non-social audit scrutiny it was found that the corruption took place at two other places – Kulcharam and Medak. Cases were registered against the responsible persons.
Speaking to reporters here on Monday, District Water Management Agency (DWMA) Project Director Soni Bala Devi said that strict measures were being taken to stop corruption in the implementation of NREGS.
