THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As many as 34 wanted persons, including an accused in the “Althara” Vineesh murder case, were arrested in a police combing operation in the Cantonment sub-division limits on Sunday. The police said one Vimal, 29, was arrested on the charge of participating in the killing of Vineesh. They said his questioning had shed more light on the role of the other accused in the case, chiefly Sobha John. The other arrested persons included alleged gang leaders Shilpa Asokan and Shan Kumar. One Shinu, wanted in connection with the attempt to murder one Abu Azar, was also arrested. Deputy City Police Commissioner M. Gopalakrishnan and Assistant Commissioner, Cantonment, K.S. Gopakumar led the operation.
