Vaishnavi is champion

HYDERABAD: Y. Sree Vaishnavi won the juniors title in the 37th Brilliant Trophy State open chess championship with 5.5 points from six rounds here on Sunday.

K. Pranav, Venkat Raghav and Shivanvitha tied for the second place with five points each.

In the open category, K. Vijaykanth, who tied with Sandeep Naidu for the top place, was declared winner by virtue of a tie-break. Chiman Prakash and Manoj Sainath shared the third place with five points each.

Best woman player: Hinduja Reddy. Best veteran: S. Khan.
