Eight-wkt. win for Australia

Taunton: Australia beat West Indies by eight wickets in a Women’s Twenty20 World Cup here on Sunday.

On Saturday, India defeated Pakistan by five wickets in their Pool B match.

The scores:

West Indies 135 for eight in 20 overs (Dottin 53, Jack 24, Andrews two for 19, Sthalekar two for 23) lost to Australia 136 for two in 17.2 overs (Nitschke 56, Sthalekar 34 n.o., Farrell 31 n.o.).

Saturday’s result: Pakistan 75 in 19.5 overs (Prinyanka Roy five for 16, Rumeli Dhar three for 13) lost to India 78 for five in 17.4 overs (Anjum Chopra 37 not out).
