On operating Brahmapuram plant

Four out of seven firms turn up before expert panel.

KOCHI: Four out of seven companies, who responded to the Expression of Interest invited by the Corporation to take up the operation of the solid waste treatment plant at Brahmapuram, made presentations before the technical committee at the council hall here on Friday.

One company had sent the details, but did not turn up for the presentation.

The technical committee met after the presentations and sent mails to the companies, asking for more details like their experience in handling similar units.

The committee will meet again in a couple of days on getting the response.

Companies eligible for submitting tenders will be short-listed after that.

Mayor Mercy Williams, Deputy Mayor C.K. Manisankar, chairmen of different standing committees and representatives of Pollution Control Board, Cochin University of Science and Technology and Kitco were also present.
