No political motive: Ravi

KOCHI: Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi said here on Friday that there was no political intervention into the probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the SNC-Lavalin case. In fact, the CBI had begun the probe on an order of the Kerala High Court, he said. The Governor had only used his discretionary powers in granting sanction for the prosecution of CPI(M) State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan in the case. “There is nothing unusual about the case,” he said. —Staff Reporter
