KOCHI: The compounding scheme announced by the State government in March for a time-bound settlement of the pending undervaluation cases in the registration department is progressing in Ernakulam district. Till May 30, the State exchequer received Rs. 2.47 lakh in 137 cases from various registrar offices in the district. The benefit of the scheme will be available only till September 30 this year. In all cases pending after the cut-off date, action will be taken under the prevailing law. Notices were being issued asking the parties concerned to pay the minimum amount payable under the scheme. The parties concerned should either deposit the amount at the sub-registrar’s office.
