Ensure rule of law, says UDF

Thiruvananthapuram: The district committee of the United Democratic Front (UDF), which met here on Friday, has urged the State government to take immediate steps to ensure the rule of law and peaceful life for citizens in the capital city.

The meeting said the recurrent murders and underworld activities revealed the failure of the police machinery in maintaining law and order.

It called on the government to identify and remove police officials involved in clandestine contracts and financial deals with underworld elements.
