Easy for top seeds

Chennai: Top seeds had an easy opening round in the first Manali International FIDE-rating chess tournament in Manali on Saturday.

Former National ‘B’ Champion and top seed, IM R. Balasubramaniam (ICF) scored an easy win over M.G. Arun with the white pieces. The event, sponsored by Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited, has attracted 227 players from many parts of India.
