VIJAYAWADA: President’s XI took a three-run first innings lead against Secretary’s XI in the three-day Krishna District Cricket Association u-19 selection match at IGMC Stadium here on Saturday. The scores: KDCA President’s XI 127 in 44 overs (K. Bhima Rao three for 20) and 54 for 3 in 14 overs vs. Secretary’s XI 124 in 47 overs (A. Suresh 33, A. Tirumala Rao four for five, Sk. Shajahan three for seven). Meher in joint leadTop seed Guntur’s Meher Chinna Reddy along with nineteen others are jointly leading the table with three points in the two-day Dr. Ambedkar State-Open chess tournament conducted by SRR Chess Academy here on Saturday. Eluru’s D. Lakshmana Rao, Hyderabad’s G.V. Srinivasa Rao and Vijayawada’s Malleswara Rao are other prominent players with in the joint lead.
