Grades for higher secondary teachers

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has issued instructions for sanctioning grades to higher secondary teachers with 10 years or 8/16 years service, an official press release said on Saturday.

Accordingly, higher secondary teachers under regular appointment who completed 10 years of service before July 1, 2004 will receive the 10-year grade as per the old salary scale (Rs.7,200-11,400) from the relevant date before July 1, 2004.

Those who completed 10 years’ service between July 1, 2004 and February 28, 2006 will receive their 10-year grade under the new salary scale (Rs.11,910-19,350).

The grades for 8 years and 16 years will become due for those who completed 8 years and 16 years service respectively on or subsequent to March 1, 2006.

In their case, the grades will be under the salary scales Rs.11,910-19,350 and Rs.12,250-19,800.
