NEW DELHI: Yashpal Singh’s unbeaten century helped Sonnet Club beat Rajasthan Cricket Association Academy by eight wickets and reach the semifinals of the Lala Raghubir Singh cricket tournament at the Modern School (Barakhamba Road) ground here on Saturday. In another match, Collage Group beat All India Public Sector (AIPS) by four runs to enter the semifinals. The scores: Rajasthan Cricket Association Academy 196 in 39.4 overs (Robin Bisht 47, Rohit Sharma 33, Azeem Akhtar 36, Vivek Yadav 29) lost to Sonnet Club 197 for two in 31.6 overs (Yashpal Singh 105 not out, Karan Rai 53 n.o.). Collage Group 234 in 39.5 overs (Ashish Sharma 61, Jaideep Chaudhary 59, Abhinav Bali 39, Rohit Mehra three for 31) bt AIPS 230 in 39.3 overs (Paras Dogra 48, Sharad Kumar three for 38, Pradeep Sangwan three for 47).
