SPG to get first woman IPS

NEW DELHI: Yet another male bastion has fallen. The elite Special Protection Group (SPG), guarding the Prime Minister and former Prime Ministers, is set to get its first woman IPS officer on deputation.

Binita Thakur, a 1996 batch IPS officer from Rajasthan, will be posted as Assistant Inspector-General in the SPG.
