Khullar, new Commerce Secretary

NEW DELHI: The Centre on Friday appointed Disinvestment Secretary Rahul Khullar as Commerce Secretary. He will replace G.K. Pillai, who has been made the Home Secretary. A 1975 batch IAS officer, Mr. Khullar was shifted to the Department of Disinvestment from the Commerce Ministry in January this year. He has earlier served the Commerce Ministry as Special Secretary for two years. Mr. Khullar has been actively involved in the world trade talks.
