Youth commits suicide

CHENNAI: A youth, who felt frustrated after a girl turned down his proposal, committed suicide by resorting to self-immolation at Nungambakkam on Thursday.

According to police, K. Suresh (23) of Andavar Nagar, Kodambakkam, was interested in marrying a girl residing at Thirumoorthi Nagar in Valluvarkottam though she showed no interest in him. On Thursday, Suresh made a final attempt to convince the girl but in vain. Disturbed over this, he doused himself with petrol taken from his motorcycle and set himself ablaze. He was rushed to Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital where he died.
