Youth held for using fake credit card

CHENNAI: A youth who tried to purchase an expensive wrist watch using a fake credit card was arrested here on Wednesday.
Police said Salman (25) of Bangalore went to a watch store in a shopping mall on Anna Salai and chose an expensive brand worth about Rs. 81,000.
When his credit card was swiped, the sale was approved.
However, the shop owner suspected foul play and checked with the private bank authorities on the status of the credit card.
Having learnt that the card was a fake one, he informed the police, who arrested Salman. Investigation is on to know the antecedents of the accused, the police said.
