TIRUCHI: The Anbil Dharmalingam Agricultural College and Research Institute, Navalur Kuttapattu, Tiruchi, has announced that application forms will be issued till June 9, 2009, in the institution for admission to twelve undergraduate programmes of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU). EligibilityIn a statement issued here today, the College Dean S. Jeyaraman said that eligibility is plus two with four science subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Botany / Biology, and Computer Science / Zoology / Statistics / Microbiology / Biochemistry / Home Science / Nursing / Nutritional Dietetics. The minimum qualifying marks is 55 per cent for open competition, 50 per cent for backward class and backward class Muslim, and 45 per cent for most backward class and denotified communities in the four subjects. A pass is sufficient for scheduled caste / scheduled tribe candidates. UG programmesThe undergraduate programmes comprise B.Sc. Agriculture, B.Sc. Horticulture, B.Sc. Forestry, B.Sc. Home Science, B.Tech Agricultural Engineering, B.Tech Horticulture, B.Tech Food Process Engineering, B.Tech Energy and Environmental Engineering, B.Tech Biotechnology, B.Tech Bioinformatics, B.S. Agribusiness Management and B.Tech Agricultural Information Technology. Constituent collegesApplication forms can also be obtained from the Dean (Agriculture) and Chairman – Admissions, TNAU, Coimbatore, besides the constituent colleges in Madurai, Tiruchi, Killikulam, Periyakulam, Kumulur and Mettupalayam, and at Urban Horticulture Development Centre, Chennai. Applications were also being issued through the affiliated colleges located at Pollachi, Elambalur in Perambalur district and Kalavai in Vellore district. Candidates can obtain the application form in person by paying Rs. 600 (Rs. 300 for SC/ST candidates) by cash or demand draft. Those obtaining the application by post have to address a requisition letter to the Dean (Agriculture) and Chairman – Admissions, Agricultural College & Research Institute, TNAU, Coimbatore – 641 003 along with a demand draft for Rs. 670 (Rs. 370 for SC/ST candidates). Students downloading applications from the website www.tnau.ac.in have to enclose the demand draft for Rs. 600 (Rs. 300 for SC/ST candidates) while sending the applications. The demand draft should be drawn in favour of the Dean (Agriculture) and Chairman – Admissions, Agricultural College & Research Institute, TNAU, Coimbatore – 641 003 payable at Coimbatore.
