TIRUCHI: The National Informatics Centre, Delhi has informed that the website www.passport.gov.in meant for online registration of passport application is under maintenance. The Centre has been working overtime to set right the problem in the server. As far as Regional Passport Office, Tiruchi, is concerned, those who have pre-registered and have got appointment dates will have no problem in submitting their applications. There are over 5,000 such applications pending for submission at the office. Optimum level of operation could be maintained for at least two weeks without any problem, going by the appointment date. Wait for the systemHowever, those applicants who visit the passport office and do the online registration through the Ex-servicemen Centre and submit on day-to-day basis without observing the appointment date given by the system, will not be able to do so until the system is up and running. They are advised to wait till the functionality of the server is restored, the Regional Passport Officer, Tiruchi, S. Balachandran, said in a press release issued here on Wednesday. For the benefit of Tatkaal applicants without appointment, manual applications are being accepted until the problem is resolved, the release said.
