Milma to launch scheme

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram Regional Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd. (Milma) has decided to institute a special prize scheme for dairy farmers and consumers as part of the commemoration of World Milk Day on June 1.
At a press conference here on Monday, Milma managing director Baby Joseph said dairy farmers from all districts who had given milk to dairy societies on May 21 could participate in the prize scheme.
Two lucky farmers in each district, who would be selected by a lucky dip, would be awarded a colour television and five sacks of cattle feed, he said.
Besides, consumers who buy Milma milk on June 1 also have a chance to win prizes.
Prize coupons will be distributed along with every cover of Milma milk on June 1, he said.
