dated May 26, 1959: Sino-Indian trade

Letters were exchanged between Mr. K.B. Lall, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Mr. Tu Tu-yun, Counsellor for Commercial Affairs in the Embassy of People’s Republic of China in New Delhi on May 26, extending till the end of 1959 the validity of the trade agreement with India and China concluded in 1954. The main items of imports from China are newsprint, chemicals, steel, cassia and raw silk. Among the Indian exports to China are tobacco, raw cotton, shellac and jute manufacturers.
