Newcastle United and Middlesbrough relegated

LONDON: Newcastle and Middlesbrough were relegated from the Premier League on Sunday after both clubs lost their final matches of the season. Newcastle was beaten 1-0 at Aston Villa, while Middlesbrough went down 1-2 at West Ham. The results meant that Sunderland and Hull survive in the top flight, despite losing their final matches.
