Mumbai: Tamil Nadu’s Mohit Mayur and Karnataka’s Sharmada Balu won the boys’ and girls’ singles title respectively in the third Ramesh Desai Memorial National junior (under-16) tennis championship at the Ranade Tennis Centre here on Sunday. Mohit, the top seed, beat Delhi’s Ronit Bisht in straight sets, while Sharmada won in three sets against Goa’s Natasha Palha. The results (finals): Boys under-16: Mohit Mayur (TN) bt Ronit Bisht (Del) 6-2, 6-4. Under-12: Sahil Deshmukh (Mah) bt Garvit Batra (Del) 2-6, 6-2, 6-3. Girls under-16: Sharmada Balu (Kar) bt Natasha Palha (Goa) 4-6, 7-6, 6-3. Under-12: Akshara Iska (AP) bt Prabhuti Singhania (Mah) 6-2, 6-1. — Special Correspondent
