Young man found murdered

Staff Reporter

His mobile phone, wallet and a bag were missing

NEW DELHI: A 23-year-old man was found dead with his throat slit under mysterious circumstances in Malviya Nagar on Saturday. The victim’s elder brother is a personal secretary to Indian Justice Party president Udit Raj.

Babulal, who worked for Vikavin Computers in Nehru Place, was found dead in a pool of blood near Triveni Apartments in Malviya Nagar by a police patrolling party in the early hours of Saturday. His motorcycle was also found parked nearby and his clothes were dishevelled.

Babulal’s elder brother Chottelal Maurya said: “He left his office an hour earlier than usual on Friday saying he had to go to Chirag Dilli. When he did not return home at his usual time, my wife Vandana called him up around 8-30 p.m. He told her that he was busy and would return by 10-30 p.m. He could not be contacted again as his mobile phone was continuously out of reach. When he did not return till 2 a.m., I grew suspicious and called up the PCR. I also informed the Malviya Nagar police station around 2-30 a.m.”

Mr. Maurya was later informed by the Malviya Nagar police station that his brother had been found murdered. Inspection of the crime scene suggested that Babulal was dumped at the spot after being murdered at some other place. His motorcycle also had blood stains. His mobile phone, wallet and a bag were missing.
